Located in the South Eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, the Appellation of Origin Jumilla extends over a total of 42,653 hectares distributed between the provinces of Murcia and Albacete. Although more than half of the vineyards are located in the province of Albacete, most of the bodegas are arranged around the XV century castle that dominates the Murcian village of Jumilla. From very remote times, numerous vestiges demonstrate that the peoples that occupied these lands throughout history (Iberians, Greek, Roman, Muslims, etc.) cultivated the grapevine.
