Alentejo

Located in southern Portugal between Lisbon and the Algarve, Alentejo is ideal for the production of unique, excellent-quality wines. It is planted with vast vineyards extended over the rolling plains under the scorching sun, which shines on the grapes and ripens them. As well as being a DOC, the entire province is entitled to the Vinho Regional designation of Alentejano. The region produces white wines with an intense, original nose, which are fruity and slightly acidic and red wines which have a bouquet of very ripe fruits but are soft and balanced on the palate.
