Fifty miles southwest of Barcelona, Spain's Priorat wine region is a remote pocket of terraced vineyards and medieval villages set in mountainous terrain. In these purple-tinged hills made of loose, shale stone soil, grapevine roots have to work hard to reach water. The result: rich, flavourful grapes that produce a limited amount of some of the world's best and most expensive-wine.
